Whether it's writing hit songs for the Music Row crowd, leading the ever popular Long Players, playing second guitar in Cheap Trick, or sharing his incredible knowledge of music history with Hall of Fame visitors, Bill Lloyd is a busy man. From the Power Pop passion of his youth, to the chart topping Foster & Lloyd, and back again... Bill has never lost that spark; a love of music that is just as strong today as it was the first time he heard The Beatles.

Check out to hear his latest.

On International Women's Day, Nicole has some thoughts, Jace is his typical sunny self, and in the end, women really will rule the world.

Jace and Dan are gonna do a thing at Exit/In Friday Night

Former guest Andrew Sovine is hosting a benefit for former guest Smith Curry. You should come.

Mar 6, 2017

From Jason Aldean to Kid Rock to up and comers you'll hear about soon, Smith Curry has been laying down the dobro, lap steel, and pedal steel for years. A rock and roll approach sets him apart. But he still tips his hat to the pioneers that proceeded him, as he takes the unique instrument into the future.

Smith and his family lost their home to a fire on March 2nd. If you have the means, please help them out in this difficult time.

Jace & Nicole talk about the new single, "Love's Not What We Do" for a minute. Then they talk about trying to make love what they do. Then they lighten up a bit and talk about hazing the new kid in the White House.

A singer needs a song. A song needs a singer. Nashville thrives upon that codependency. Which makes an artist like Radney Foster all the more unique. Truly a singular voice. He's the kinda guy you have to double check when you write with him. It sounds so good when he sings! But was it actually good? Yeah. Probably so. Cause the man can write. Not content to have a slew of number one hits as an artist and a writer, Radney is now taking center stage in the theater and about to publish his first set of fictional prose. Jace and Radney sit down in the attic and hash it out.

Join Radney! on his new adventure.

Also, be sure and check out to hear Jace's brand new single and check out the video!

As we watched Betsy DeVos become Secretary of Education recently, once again the debates were rekindled. What do we do about our broken education system? Wait, is it broken? Did we leave a child or two behind? How do we fix it? Alana Coles, a 19 year veteran teacher in Tennessee, has a few thoughts. Some may not be that popular. Especially the one about how all the money in the world can't fix broken people. It takes people to do that. Jace and Alana dig in. Get off your butt and get in the game.

Nashville to Brooklyn, to Savannah, back to Nashville. On a seemingly never ending loop. Andrew Sovine is following his heart, while he chases his muse. The guitarist/multi-instrumentalist is currently in the studio with artist Ashley McBryde and producer Jay Joyce. Jace and Andrew climb up to the attic to talk about music, his grandpa (Red Sovine), and how sometimes you gotta leave home if you ever wanna learn where you came from.

Todays episode is sponsored by Jimmie A. Beasley of Crye-Leike Real Estate Services. If you are looking for a property or in need of help selling a property here in Middle Tennessee, Jimmie Beasley is here to help.

Feb 2, 2017

Jace & Nicole stumble up to the attic, cause it's time to make the donuts.

Sleepless nights, NYTimes Crossword hell, lunkheaded baseball players, Black History Month, and ill-informed/anecdotal musings on Cuba. With some nice music from our Cuban pals, Trio ALPHA. Check them out at the poorly managed Hotel Santa Isabel! (The wait staff were jerks, but the band was fantastic.)

Nashville is all about pedal steel, tears in your beer, and cowboy boots! Right? Well, sometimes. Other times it's about pushing the boundaries as far as you can and seeing what'll stretch and what'll break. On todays episode, Jace sits down with Chris Nix of The Power Triplets. Challenging music for challenging times. The Power Triplets have a new record of instrumental wizardry headed our way, and Nix tells us how it all came together.

Jan 26, 2017

Jace & Nicole are in Cuba this week doing some work for the show, and for Jace's new record. Also drinking rum and listening to music. While they are away, please enjoy Jace's conversation with the great Rick Brantley. A singer and songwriter that's one of our favorites.

Rick is touring a lot this year. Don't miss out!

New episode on Monday!

A major label deal that went sideways, straight into a TV show that went great, saddled with a few habits that got dark. Jeremy Lister didn't get where he is today by an easy road. But we're sure glad he got where he is today. Jace and Jeremy discuss the bright lights of Street Corner Symphony, the bonafide brilliance of Radiohead, and how being a brother is one of the best gigs a man can have.

New music headed your way from The Lister Brothers.

Every Monday we put up a show with a Nashvillian of note. And on Thursday things like this happen:

Jace & Nicole discuss the terrible failures of Barack Obama, the fact that white men have got it all figured out, their pending trip to Cuba, RV trips across America, carrying you "hot mess" in a baggie, and what's up with Norwegian water.

Basically, it's an idiotic conversation between a guy with a head cold and the woman who loves him. Followed by a sincere love song written by head cold guy for stalwart woman.

Ryan Madora is 5 foot and 0 inches of smart, funny, and emotional maturity. She's also one of Jace's favorite bass players in Nashville. Why? Because besides having the chops to get the job done, she has the attitude to make the job fun. This young woman should be an inspiration to anyone who wants to work on the craft of music. She's also charming as hell. Enjoy!

Jace's son Jacques fills in for Nicole this week. They discuss astro-physics, avoiding the news, and the fact that Jace is just a teeny bit out of his ever-loving mind. Father and son binding at it's finest.

Be sure and catch up with Monday's episode featuring Thomas O'Keefe, tour manager of some of rock and rolls hottest tickets of the last 15 years.

Jan 9, 2017

Thomas O'Keefe is one of those "behind the scenes" guys in the music business. But he's certainly not the shy, retiring type! Whiskeytown, Train, Weezer, and Third Eye Blind are a few of the big name acts he has tour managed over the years. Jace sat down with Thomas before the holidays and talked about the past, present, and future of life on the road, on the radio, and in this business we call music.

Happy New Year, folks! Jace & Nicole are on holiday break, but will be back on January 9th with all new episodes. Until then, enjoy one of our most popular episodes from the 2016 season of Nashville Later!

Big, bold, and brash. Words that easily describe todays guest, Kevin Murphy. In fact, Jace light heartedly gave him the designation of "foul-mouthed freight train" in a previous episode. But that's only true if the train is carrying a payload of love. Kevin talks hard, hits harder, and loves hardest of all. Murphy isn't just a "friend of the show", he's a friend of the Family. And this is a snapshot of one of Nashville's finest musicians, being truly himself. Buckle up for some salty talk about the sweetness of life.

Dec 26, 2016

** Jace & Nicole are enjoying some family time, so here's one of our more popular episodes from Season 1 of Nashville Later. Season 2 will start back up on January 9th, 2017**

Now that Racism is over (Thanks Obama!) why is a white boy from Nashville still talking about it? Good question. Tim Wise is an anti-racism activist, author, film maker, and speaker. Tim takes a seat on the pink couch and states his case. Also, Jace has a few, still gestating thoughts on the President Elect; Donald J. Trump. There's a lot of content here. But put down your pitchforks, and sharpen your pencils.

Dec 22, 2016

On the final episode of 2016, Jace and Nicole are joined by two 9 year-old girls to discuss the work ethic of Santa's elves, New Years reVolutions (sic), and how to use a microphone. Then they kick those little monsters out and play some snippets from the Nashville Later Live event. Do us a favor and check out these wonderful artists on the links below. They deserve a listen.

Huge thanks to all of our guests and all of our listeners for making our first 46 episodes happen!

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Friendship Commanders. Even the name has a complex simplicity. An olive branch wrapped around a steel blade. The music is hard and edgy. The lyrics are earnest and searching. Buick Audra and Jerry Roe live in Nashville, but their music comes from some other place. Jace talks to the married duo about the state of the Union, the state of the industry, and the state of the heart that's always bleeding. This is a good one. Dig in. And check out their new full length LP entitled: DAVE

Friendship Commanders
Be sure and go to the Nashville Later web site to check out an extra clip of our conversation with the band, and a listen to Jace's fave track off of their new record.
Dec 15, 2016

Jace teaches a music/writing class, Nicole warns us about Star Wars:Rogue One, medical marijuana gets a fist bump from the TN GOP, Sheryl Crow closes the bar down, and M.L. Rose (a local bar/eatery) gets drunk on nacho cheese. Tackling the important issues of the day... some other day.
